Lightkeepers II
“We’re living through a complicated moment as a human family, and whenever people start waging war on each other, it brings everyone down. But history—if you look at it honestly—shows that the arc of the moral universe does bend toward justice, even if there’s always pushback with progress. We move forward, then there’s resistance, and that’s just how it goes.
No matter what’s happening in the world, we each have a choice: to carry light, or to add to the darkness. You can’t blame anyone else for the energy you bring. It’s your responsibility to bring the light, to lighten things up, and to refuse to wallow in the dark.
I turn to certain truths that help me: First, we’re all connected. Science, philosophy, and ecology all say it—we’re not just living in this universe, we’re part of it, deeply connected to each other and everything around us. Second, change is constant. Nothing stays the same for long, and looking back or wishing things could be as they were is simply not possible. The present is what we have, and being present is powerful. Third, every action has an equal and opposite reaction—call it karma, or what goes around comes around. What you put out comes back, and that’s not a law we made up, it’s just how the universe works.
When we align ourselves with these universal truths—when we choose to act with light, to be present, and to remember our interconnectedness—we help illuminate the way forward, for ourselves and for others. That’s how we keep hope alive, even in difficult times. Take it one day at a time, and remember: the light is always there for you.”
